dpkg-genchanges trouble

How do I resolve the following? dpkg-genchanges complains, but I don't want
to create the package. It is libc5 compatible only and we don't need it for
powerpc.
dpkg-genchanges: arch-specific upload - not including arch-independent
packages dpkg-genchanges: binary-only upload - not including any source code
dpkg-genchanges: failure: cannot open upload file ../libgd1_1.3-1.1_powerpc.deb for reading: No such file or directory
