Re: help with packaging

[Please in general do not do private discussion and specifically not while
I'm in this high work hackathon state. We are an open team and thus I'm
forwarding my answer to the public list.]

Hi again,

sorry for not beeing precise enough in my advise.

I'd like to do this - provided the package is relevant for the Debian
Med project and specifically for Covid-19 currently.

Well, you can also join a packaging team - that's what we are talking
about here.

I have not checked all orphaned bugs but the ones I checked and the last
link are pretty generic packages with no obvious connection to the
Debian Med project. I don't say that they are no valuable targets.
They might serve Debian users in general and might deserve some care.
But you need to find someone else as a mentor if you want to work on
these since I'm dealing with mentoring currently at least five people
and have my fingers in more than 1000 packages. I need to restrict my
concentration onto these.

May be you have another look on packages that are needed by our team:

   https://salsa.debian.org/med-team/community/2020-covid19-hackathon/-/wikis/COVID-19-Hackathon-packages-needing-work

Or if you simply want to work on some open bug in our team

   https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?maint=debian-med-packaging@lists.alioth.debian.org

Feel free to contact us via IRC at #debian-med for more speedy
conversation if you have more questions.

Kind regards

      Andreas.
