License of cluster3 becomes unspecified since you are linking to a non-existing URL
Hello Michiel,
I'm writing you again[1] about the license of Cluster 3.0.
Unfortunately nothing has happended since then since I did not found any
contact information.
As license statement you are refering to
http://rana.lbl.gov/EisenSoftwareSource.htm
The fact that this URL does not exist any more is a good example why
using URLs instead of an explicit license text is not a good idea. The
current situation is that your software does not have any license at all
any more which would even make it non-distributable even in the non-free
area of the Debian mirror.
I really appreciate that you agreed to a free license and I absolutely
share your assumption that Michael Eisen would probably agree as well.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to reach a person who could clarify the
license. In any case it would be a really good start if you would use a
free license for your own code and add the original license text to the
downloadable file.
Kind regards
Andreas.
