I'm fine if it works.  However, for completeness you have (at least) two
options to find out:

  1. use codesearch
     http://codesearch.debian.net/results/--no-ext-rename/page_0

I forgot to say that I had checked that: all the existing uses are CDBS users who call dh_python[23] directly which makes modifying the call trivial. I also tried passing it to `dh` but dh_python2 didn't parse the
`-O--no-ext-rename`.
