The analysis was quite explicite about the reasons why assembly code was
used an in what cases it can be prevented.  So there is no need to
suppose anything but simply to look into the attached table.  BTW, after
a second look EMBOSS was a false positive I forgot to remove (sorry for
the noise to EMBOSS developers).  I found some article in German language
that might be a reasonable summary of the study[1]

Sure, everybody can.  I guess in several cases you are according to the
table and in some you are not.
