I can ensure that Mathieu believes correctly. It is good to have a
package team-maintained in a Vcs that "fits". We do keep a few very
general packages in Debian Med Vcs but the only visible trace for this
is that the debian/control file has the Vcs entry and the packaging team
is the maintainer - both does finally not matter very much as long as
the package is properly maintained. Sometimes it is just convinient
to not enter to many teams (like Java, Perl etc.) So feel free to leave
it or you can also move it again into a different Vcs if you find a
different team inside Debian - we are finally not competing to get more
and more packages but trying to cooperate in a way that packages are
maintained as best as possible.

I would also offering sponsoring of packages in other Vcses if it
concerns a precondition for some medical relevant package.

Kind regards
