MUMmer patch for dynamic memory allocation.
Dear MUMmer developers,
MUMmer is packaged for the Debian operating system since 2007, and the version
we distribute includes a patch for dynamic memory allocation similar to the one
that was originally submitted to the SourceForge tracker a few years ago:

We would like to know your opinion of this patch. If not applied, MUMmer
crashes on machines that have less than 512 Mo of memory, which contradicts
Debian's goals of being usable on a broad range of hardwares. Also, it may
create the conditions for a buffer overflow.
