How about installing the real binary as /usr/bin/plink.ICR

Well, I don't think that the *real* name of the binary is the
thing which is unclear as long as it is apropriately documented.
The divergence was about the name which is accessible via
/usr/bin. I think I stick to

     /usr/lib/plink/plink

as the real executable in any case because if you add this dir
to your path you are fine with any potentially existing scripts.
I don't really mind about the actual name of the link in /usr/bin
as long as it is not plink (existing name clash) or snplink
(potantial name clash) - but it should be accepted by upstream
and propagated to other distributions (Gentoo).

Kind regards

        Andreas.
