Hi all,

all other bioperl distributors (fink, freebsd, gentoo, biopackages.net,
...) offer bioperl-1.5. Being an arch: any package, I think that it
would make sense to hijack bioperl and to distribute the version 1.5.2
in at least Sid, because Etch can provide a working package for the
people who want 1.4. But how many are them anyway? 1.5 is widely used by
stable versions of programs which depend on bioperl...

I have no time for this, and bioperl 1.5.2 would be RC-buggy because it
would not be able to fulfull its dependancies until some CPAN pacakges
are debianised. But it would not be a regression from 1.4, which does
not offer more functionalities (to my knowledge). So if somebody wants
to push the upload button, we already have everything in our svn:

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/debian-med/trunk/packages/bioperl/trunk/debian/?rev=0&sc=0

Have a nice day,
