Great.  Would you mind checking in the packaging stuff into Alioth SVN? 
Loocking foreward to an official upload to further strengthen our
imaging support.

PS: I'm nearly finished with volpack.  I decided to use a get-orig-source
    target that adds automake stuff for building dynamic and static library.
