Dear Robert,

we would be delighted to host your package in our subversion repository,
and to provide you advice about how to prepare it. However, for the
python-specific questions, I strongly recommend that you ask the python
specialists in Debian. As you know, there are many versions of python
around, and some special care is to be taken so that the Debian package
you will build will be able to pick the one it needs. I also recommend
to have a look at the conventions (policy) for python packages in
Debian:

http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/python-policy/
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianPython

For general questions about packaging, there is also a specialised
mailing list, debian-mentors@lists.debian.org. But do not hesitate to CC
debian-med@l.d.o at the same time.

Lastly, the first step of your package creation can be the filing of an
ITP (intend to package) bug in our bug tracking system (BTS). Simply
type "reportbug wnpp" and follow the instructions.

Have a nice day, and many thanks for your initiative.
