I wonder whether a basic distinction between

field ? Some things (such as DICOM) may be considered
cross-category as they are fairly neutral in intent.
I basically have to trust all medical experts in this list and
I really hope for more input in this field. The basic idea has
to be:

How can our users find their programs?

So any hint which helps in this direction from "real" medical
users (not from such stupid outsiders like me) is greatly appreciated.
I know that several people just read this (debian-med) list. Please
speak up *now* if you think you could give a reasonable input in
this direction.

I'm willing to rework all the categorizing stuff inside the meta package
scheme which is also reflected on the web page if it is currently suboptimal
and should be made better. I hope we can find a consensus in the DebTags
and I will use this scheme for further work.

BTW, in these discussions always a Debian-Bio project comes into mind.
My canonical answer to this is: Start the Debian-Bio project first and
I will immediately give up a certain amount of work to you.

Kind regards

        Andreas.
