Open Tasks
Hi,
for those who wonder how they might actively support Debian-Med I would
offer two tasks:
1. Bother authors of non-free software about freeing their program.
Rationale: There might be the chance that non-free will be
removed from Debian at all. Even if this si not the
case each non-free package makes extra work because there
are no auto-builders.
TODO: Get contact to uptream authors. (For example I never managed
to get in touch with the molphy author who claimed that he
*intends* to GPL this software - but he seemed to be vanished.
So you can enhance your detective skills here ...)
Explain the reasons why Free Software is good for the project.
(Feel free to aks me for "templates" for arguing. I had a fairly
long discussion for instance with the phylip author.)
2. Caring actively for the Debian-Med web pages. I did not manage
to update these pages for the last couple of month.
So if you have no programming skills but want to see the advance of the
Debian-Med project step in here and help me saving my time for packaging
tasks and other technical stuff.
Kind regards
Andreas.
