Tell them to not look at upstream version numbers and that you
run Debian. Interestingly enough, the Debian versions *are*
reported back from SSH at least:
$ nc $wheezybox 22
SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_6.0p1 Debian-4+deb7u6
So they can just check for that being up-to-date.
