About applying non-free firmware on Debian Live images

So... Debian voted about non-free-firmware section:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2022/10/msg00020.html
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2022/10/msg00001.html
.

I'm quite interested in Debian Live images having GPU firmware and so on... so that I can use them later as a basis for Rescatux (Debian Live based cd).
Also about that boot option that enables or not that extra firmware.

As I am a bit disconnected about current Debian Live work I have two questions:

1) Has the Debian-live team/people had a discussion on the mailing list about what this change might imply on the live images?

Some people might argue that if a GPU starts in 640x480 only with free firmware then there is no need to include the non-free firmware.

2) Any work already done on git commits / Salsa?

Thank you very much for your feedback.
