annoying re-login after sessions times out ...

 I am using:

 $ uname -a
 Linux debian 4.9.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.82-1+deb9u3 (2018-03-02)
x86_64 GNU/Linux

 DL used to have an option, which seems to have been obfuscated, to
either not go into power management cycles or not having to login
again (with password "live"). I am curious as to why and I would like
to be able to control that. I do not want to have to login again when
the monitor is inactive for some time.

 How can you do/fix that?
