Package: live-boot-initramfs-tools
Version: 1:20151213
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
We tried to update the SolydXK EE (Enthusiast's Editions following Debian stretch) ISOs and found that the current update in busybox caused a kernel panic while booting live.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Update busybox (version 1:1.22.0-17 to 1:1.22.0-19), update live-boot and live-boot-initramfs-tools to the latest versions.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
     Kernel panic.

     This output is relevant:
     Running /scripts/init-bottom
     mount: /dev is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev is not a block device

The error is caused in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/udev
     Line: mount -n -o move /dev ${rootmnt}/dev

This line is also present in Debian stable and does not cause a problem there.
When we do not upgrade busybox we can successfully boot live.
This problem does not occur when upgrading busybox on an installed system, only live.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
     A bootable live session.

   > I can provide an ISO if you whish so.

 .
   * Team upload.
   * Update build system to rely on "dpkg-parsechangelog -S Version" instead
     of outdated VERSION file.
   * No longer modify PATH to point to /root and thus stop using executables
     from /root. Closes: #823069
   * Drop debian/source/local-options as the only option it contained was
not applicable to 3.0 (native) source format.
   * Drop debian/source/options and dh_builddeb override as XZ compression is
     the default now.
