what's the content of your
config/chroot_local-includes/etc/live/config.d/project.conf file?

It only includes "noautologin", nothing more.

 

does your live-system has user-setup installed?

Yes it should, done in /auto/config file. But the user is not created (see my other post "Normal system user not being created". 

 

do you use persistency?

 

No.
