First of all, it doesn't work that way. They both go in the same folder.
Second, see live-manual for your version of live-build. Go to
http://live.debian.net and click 'stable' or 'unstable' for 2.x and 3.x
respectively. And finally, make sure the .deb files have valid filenames
(i.e. name_version_arch.deb) or else apt won't see them.
