sorry for the late answer, didn't read the thread until now, and sorry that it took so long to fix things up; however, as of yesterday, all your issues are fixed with live-* in sid. it might take a while until stuff migrates to testing though (but, like you were told, you can use pinning in the meanwhile).
That is FANTASTIC news! I'll try it out right away. Well, as soon as I can, anyway. If it works, I can finally get past this roadblock and start serious work on getting a wheezy ISO out the virtual door. It also means I can use it myself! :)
