live-tools_3.0.12-1_all.deb package overwrites /usr/share/man/man1/uptime.1.gz
Dear debian-live maintainer[s]!
Current sid `live-tools` package
(http://packages.debian.org/en/sid/all/live-tools/filelist) conflicts
with `procps` package and `initramfs-tools` package either in wheezy
or in sid (http://packages.debian.org/en/sid/all/procps/filelist).
Both packages `live-tools` and `procps` place
`/usr/share/man/man1/uptime.1.gz`, but `procps`'s one is for system
`uptime` utility, which shows time from system boot, number of logged
in users and load average, and `live-tools`'s one is a symlink to
`/usr/share/man/man7/live-tools.7.gz` and contains short and generic
information about `live-tools` scripts.
Moreover there are 4 symlinks to man7/live-tools.7.gz in
`/usr/share/man/man1` of `live-tools` package. They are
`man1/live-system.1.gz`, `man1/live-toram.1.gz`,
`man1/live-uptime.1.gz` and `man1/uptime.1.gz`
Both packages `live-tools` and `initramfs-tools` place
`/usr/share/man/man8/update-initramfs.8.gz`, but `initramfs-tools`'s
one contains `update-initramfs`'s script parametres, while
`live-tools`'s one is a symlink to
`/usr/share/man/man7/live-tools.7.gz` again :(
Because of `procps` and `initramfs-tools` packages usually are
installed during system installation, while `live-tools` is installed
usually much later, `live-tools` package overwrites these origin and
useful man pages.
I sure such man pages overwriting should not be present in pretty
debian packages system and total FIVE symlinks with different names
and location to the same live-tools man page is too much.
So, i expect for removing (or renaming)
`/usr/share/man/man1/uptime.1.gz` and
`/usr/share/man/man8/update-initramfs.8.gz` in `live-tools` package to
avoid overwriting man pages of origin man pages for this utilites.
Thanks in advance.
