Stubborness is me!!!
After much trial and error I have been able to find the problem that
prevented the pdf file from building properly. It is a broken link. I
fixed it in the Spanish translation and made the commit this
afternoon. When I realized that it worked online I made a local backup
copy of live-manual and fixed the Italian translation. And it built as
well!!! Then I deleted the local backup copy.
I hope the Italian team can take care of fixing this problem and
making the commit as soon as possible.

As you can see the diff is:

The same thing caused an error in the Spanish po. But the link works
in the English version. It's weird.
