--- Begin Message --- This is on purpose; live-build 3.x relays on syslinux-themes-debian. the only thing that is the business of live-build is to set the list of boot parameters, everything else goes into syslinux-themes-debian.

if you don't like syslinux-themes-debian (which is perfectly fine), then you're supposed to do your own. i do that too for my own systems where the debian defaults don't fit.
