running a command with sudo

That's not really what I care about . Nothing elase is running and I did
verify it off-line. I tried fitting a sed one-liner as an EDITOR, but
that doesn't seem to work:
debian:~# EDITOR="sed -i -e '\$awww-data ALL=NOPASSWD:/usr/share/rapid-scripts/sudo_helper' " visudo
visudo: specified editor (sed -i -e '$awww-data ALL=NOPASSWD:/usr/share/rapid-scripts/sudo_helper' ) doesn't exist!
But that's a really technical issue. My main issue is with the fact that
my package needs to edit /etc/sudors . Works? sure. Elegant? no. Will
work for the live CD. Will fail later in real life.
