Bug#490290: Could handle empty LH_LINUX_PACKAGES more gracefully

Hi,

to my understanding, it can never happen that a variable is indeed
empty. Each helper, after having read in the config files, calls
Set_defaults(); which fills in a default value for any variable that is
empty.
