Bug#888413: lintian: Don't consider README file under debian/patches as patch file
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.71
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Please do not consider README file under debian/patches folder as a patch file.
Several of my packages have a README file in the debian/patches folder which
describes naming convention to be followed while creating new patches. [1]. I noticed
that newer lintian emits patch-file-present-but-not-mentioned-in-series for README file
which I feel is not correct. Can you please exclude README file from above tag?
Cheers,
