I had a *quick* look over the software available (of course all of this
depends on the focus: Law Office, Law Student, Court System etc).
I would think that we should try to package what we can and put it all
into the cdd with a sane choice of defaults regarding word processor, db
management, collaboration tools, case management etc. Debian is about
choice rather than locking people in.
As you said, one needs to analyse the packages available. Being a mere
law student I am unsure as to the requirements of a legal office so it
might be good if you/someone with practical experience would be able to
draw up criteria according to which one analyses the software.
On that note, I noticed that there are a fair amount of java based tools
out there. That adds the further difficulty of getting it to run using a
free VM.
