Having all the code under one single license means simpler permission
notices, but apart from that, are there any other practical advantages
of the "all LGPL" over the "part BSD, part LGPL" scenario?

I only see the _disadvantage_ of having less rights granted on the parts
of the modified work that come from the original work...
