Yes, we absolutely should do that.
Best practice is to list all the copyright holders for each page somewhere
near the bottom, right before the license statement. "All the copyright
holders" usually means "All the authors of more than trivial amounts of
text".
This is best practice for *any* project, actually. Every time you make a
significant contribution to a file, update the copyright statement in the
file to include your name and the year.
