I can only recoup the cost if someone requests a copy, otherwise it's a sunk cost; but I have to keep the source around just in case. Unless the original licensors are willing to cover that cost for me? No? I didn't think so. In that case I'm out the money. Probably not a lot of money (unless I had to buy a new HDD or tape drive because all these copies of huge source tarballs filled up my available space). - Matt
