There's exactly one point I would dare to sign...

So don't even mention that "Even with 10 parallel compiles (and a load
of 20) it's still 10 times faster than an Athon 1000" to a friend.
No, it's praise, but it could be taken to be a benchmark result... if
Intel found a reason to hurt you or your project.
Yes, I might be paranoid... but as Andy Grove said, "Only the paranoid
survive" ;-)
But this is *not* the clause I mention in the intro. The following
is.
Stephane> 11. USER SUBMISSIONS: Any material, information or other

Stephane> considered non-confidential and non-proprietary

Starts pretty harmless...

Woah. Wait a second here... "Intel [...] will be free to [...],
incorporate and otherwise use [...] all data, images, sounds, text,
and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or
non-commercial purposes."
No way I'd sign this... maybe my English's to weak, but the way this
can be used... makes me shiver.
Stephane> You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or

And then a standard ending... of course this is all Verboten.
Stephane> 16. GENERAL: Intel may revise these Terms at any time by

Here's another nice one... same thing's in the SF TOS. But at least
I'd trust VA a little bit more than Intel not to do non-nice things
here.
Though (and same goes for SF), why can't they simply tell one of such
mods, at least right after doing them (preferrably a couple days
before)?
BTW, the SF "we can change these terms whenever we feel like without
telling you, blblblblttt" (;-) are phrased a bit differently... the
most glaring difference is the "because they are binding" here (though
the SF TOS are binding too... so maybe Intel can be said to be more
open about this? ;-)
Stephane> 17. [...] The failure of either party to enforce any

Ha ha, Intel, who are you kidding here! Intel's the only party here
that has *any* rights... (SCNR >:-|
All in all... no I wouldn't sign it (if I were in a position to have
anything to do on `Itanium' (wot a silly name ;-)
Bye, J
