Re: Bug#57303: omniorb's copyright is broken

I become fatigued with this issue being continuously raised. A
quick review of the existing bugs against omniorb would have revealed
that this issue has been dealt with already.

Furthermore, please do not file bugs against old versions of
packages. omniorb is at patchlevel 2, which has two sets of
licenses, one for omniorb-dev (which contains some "non-free" elements)
and the other for omniorb and omniorb-doc, which do not. The "missing"
copyright file you cite relates only to omniorb-dev, and is present
in that package. Omniorb patchlevel 2 has revised license statements
that reflect this.

The problem is that our system cannot produce both non-free and
free/contrib packages from the same source file. Therefore it is
impossible to handle omniorb without complicated splitting of the
sources by manual effort.

Consequently, it was decided to put omniorb(all) into non-free until
the omniorb upstream folks release their new IDL compiler, which
will be GPL'd. At this point the whole package will be moved
into 'main'.

Please do not file further bugs about this same issue. If you find
that the licensing situation in patchlevel 2 are still at issue,
please send me private mail and I will deal with it.

Regards,

-Brent
