Then it links to this article: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Extra_Keyboard_Keys_in_Console Basically you create a personal keymap just for the keys you are trying to enable and either use a keysym (the symbol for they key) or a command in quotes using the "string" command with a new-line \n to get the command executed. I did this using amixer commands, just for pcm control and it works.
