I think this can be fixed by putting 'Option "IgnoreACPI" "yes"' in the
Device-section of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
(If I remember correctly that is alluded to in the parts of the X-log
you didn't show, but interpreting the output certainly isn't always
trivial!)
