You should keep LiIon batteries fully charged, and just use them when you need batteries. of course if you want to _store_ LiIon batteries for any length of time, you should discharge them to 40% charged first, but that doesn't apply to laptop users. Deep discharge / charge cycles are not good for LiIon batteries, and even so, don't expect your laptop battery to last for more than three years.
