Re: cdrom problem installing etch

There's no need to reinstall. Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list changing
sarge to etch.  Then do

$ sudo aptitude update

$ sudo aptitude dist-upgrade

When I tried to do this (about two months ago) there was a glitch in the upgrade connected with the transformation from XFree to XOrg (on a Sharp Mebius) and I lost X. Even when saved the old information from the config file and tried to rewrite it manually, it wouldn't work. Of course, there may be a workaround for this, but in any case, it is not a straightforward process on all machines.
