ipw2200 on Dell M60
Hi,
I have just installed Debian Linux on a new Dell Precision M60 notebook
with Intel IPW2200 wireless. I installed the ipw2200-source package from
Debian, and followed the instructions for building the module and for
installing the firmware, which all seemed to go okay.
However, it doesn't seem to be working. If I run iwconfig, I get:
charya:~# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
Looking in /var/log/messages, I see:
Jan 17 12:24:40 charya kernel: ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915
Network Driver, 0.19

2200BG Network Connection
Jan 17 12:24:40 charya kernel: ipw2200: probe of 0000:02:03.0 failed
with error -16
I've no idea what error 16 is. And I don't see a wlan0 device there.
Also, the network I'm using requires WEP encryption.
Any ideas how I might debug this?
Thanks for any help.
Regards, Upayavira
