Greetings,
The two hexdumps below show the mbr
before and after the Sarge installer partitions the drive. The "after" partition
is garbled in a suprisingly orderly way (some columns are filled with
alternating hex values). The partitioner (and cfdisk 2.12) can read the
partition, but writing generates the results shown below.
Does this reveal anything about the
cause?
