ndiswrapper is just a wrapper. You require a W2K/WXP (I think) driver for the piece of hardware you are trying to use. I use ndiswrapper and a WXP driver for an ASUS WL-138g, because I could not find a decent Linux supported card :/

I've just bought some myself - am yet to set it up but from what I have read so far you have to use ndiswrapper - theres no direct chipset support.
