Troubles with Intel graphics card and XFree86

Hi,

I have bought Dell Inspiron 2200 and I so far it seems to be working with
Debian/sarge (I was even able to make internal wireless card to work with
ndiswrapper), but graphics is still suboptimal (i.e., VESA 800x600). This
is what I get from lspci -v:

0000:00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile
915GM/GMS/910GM
L Express Graphics Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA])
        Subsystem: Dell: Unknown device 01a4
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
        Memory at dff00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K]
        I/O ports at ec38 [size=8]
        Memory at c0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
        Memory at dfec0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K]
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2

0000:00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML

        Memory at dff80000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K]
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2

After a lot of googling, I found a) that somebody made something similar to
work with extended xserver-0000:00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel
Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GM

After a lot of googling, I found that a) somebody made something similar to
work with patched xserver-xfree86 packages from
http://debian.uni-klu.ac.at/debian.uniklu/ sarge/uniklu/desktop, b) that
Intel is so nice, that they provide binary-only packages at
http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-010512.htm . However, even
after a lot of trying, I have not managed to make it work, so I have still
that abysmally ugly blinking VESA mode. My kernel config (vanilla 2.6.11.7)
and xfree86 setup are available on
http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/X11.tar.bz2.

Can anybody help me to make this work, please?

Thanks a lot for any reply,

        Matej Cepl
