Re: Problem with linux-kernel 2.6.11.8 for ibm-thinkpad t40?

Thanks for replying...

In my 1st post, the config file is included just in case... Notice
how the sound drivers are compiled into the kernel (not as modules),
and this was working for me before (until 2.6.10 at least).

I always check alsamixer when compiling new kernel, and it worked
without complaining, and there's no mute, everything is enabled, but
it doesn't matter, although I set all volumes at max. nothing comes
out from the speakers when playing music...

Yes, the drivers are loaded, and assigned IRQ 11, from dmesg:

ALSA device list:
  #0: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 with AD1981B at 0xc0000c00, irq 11
  #1: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem at 0x2400, irq 11

>From /proc/interrupts

 11: 21306 XT-PIC yenta, yenta, ehci_hcd, uhci_hcd,
uhci_hcd, uhci_hcd, Intel 82801DB-ICH4, Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem, eth1

And from lspci:

0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB/DBL/DBM
(ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01)

So, with no errors, but not working either I'm in the dark... If
someone has gotten it work, can please check the config file sent in
original mail and indicate what might be wrong?

Thx,
