X resolution on Dell Inspiron 1150

Hello,

I'm trying to get X to fire up a resolution beyond 640x480, but
although I've configured it to use 1024x768 (using dpkg-reconfigure),
it doesn't. I've installed 855wrap and have it running before X is
started, but it still runs in 640x480 mode. I have a Dell Inspiron
1150 with a 15' monitor, running Debian (sarge).

I include my X config file at the bottom. I will add the long log
file too, if anyone asks. For now, just a couple of excerpts that
might be relevant:
