Yes, in my config, I've got:
CONFIG_AGP=y
CONFIG_AGP_INTEL=y
CONFIG_DRM=y
CONFIG_DRM_MACH64=m

> 2. cd /usr/X11R6/lib/modules
> make directory gatos and copy files *.drv.o
> make directory mach64 and copy files *.drv.o e *.dri.so
copy gatos dir to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules
copy mach64/mach64_dri.so to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri
copy mach64/ati[misc]_drv.o to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers
(overwriting existing files)
chmod 644 those files

Yes, nothing special needed.
