up arrow key doesnt work in X

Hi, not sure if this is laptop or debian specific.

I have 1 key that doesn't work in X - the up arrow key. It works under
the console. I am not sure where to start looking to solve.

The Xconfig section is below. I am using gnome / metacity

I have an asus M6820R and am very happy with it. I used the 100MB
minimal debain install cd and only had 1 problem - the kernel panicked
on reboot. I am not sure if this was solved by specifying linux26 to
install 2.6 kernel, or by configuring with a small swap space (did both
changes at same time).
