add your self to audio group or try to set the permission to rw-rw-rw

| My second question is that I want to install a Java Development Kit

| * Linux self-extracting file (jdk-1_5_0-linux-i586.bin, 43.95 MB)

| Which one should I get? I think should be the self-extracting one? If I

i installed the self-extracting file. you can install it in your home
directory, only you can use java, or in /usr/local, my choice. remember
to set the PATH variable. in my case:

PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_04/bin
JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_04
export PATH JAVA_HOME

just a question: i add the three lines in my .bashrc, but this work for
me only. where i have to add them if i want to make it work for all the
users?

| Thx in advance for the advice.
