Syncing Palm IIIx via USB-to-serial cable
This can't be this hard, but I just can't figure it out.
I've got a Palm IIIx running Palm OS 4.1 connected to the USB port on my
laptop via a Belkin USB-to-serial cable and I'm trying to sync it under
Linux. (There are no serial ports on the laptop.)
When I watch /dev/ttyUSB0, I see " ßó Ýó Ýã |z
`ó?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ?BÂ",
when I press the HotSync button on the cradle, but Kpilot and Jpilot just hang
when they try to sync.
The Handspring Visor, which does not use the USB-to-serial cable,
uses /dev/ttyUSB1, and seems to use a different protocol, works perfectly.
Results of Google searches seem to expect if it is on USB, it is a newer unit.
Anyone have a clue what to do next?
