It's probably way off base, but are you sure that you have an ehci USB
bus? When troubleshooting USB on my machines I usually compile up UHCI
and OHCI as modules and try each one, one at a time.

how can I know ?
I have 4 usb plugs on my laptop.

here is my "lspci -v" output :

00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB (ICH4) USB UHCI (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [UHCI])

I removed everything from /etc/modules, but I still have ehci loaded after a reboot :

$lsmod
soundcore 9952 0
ide_cd 39360 0
cdrom 35872 1 ide_cd
ndiswrapper 60792 0
ehci_hcd 25088 0
usbcore 101012 3 ehci_hcd
ntfs 86932 0
8250 17920 0
serial_core 22016 1 8250

I don't know what triggers it since I don't use any usb devices.

How can I try uhci ?
just modprobe ?

Can I have both uhci and ehci loaded, without confilicts ?

Thanks for your help

Marcos
