Agreed. The same with stereo equipment back in the day. Dual cassette decks
generally had lower performance and worse specs than single ones.
Another issue to consider is what to do in the event that one of the pieces
breaks. For instance, a friend of mine has a cell phone/PDA with a broken
crystal on the PDA.Along those lines, what about when parts of the whole
become obsoleted? You _know_ they won't allow the newer, cooler features
won't be released at the same time, so you will end up spending _more_ money
on the integrated device, and doing it more often as each part of the device
is obsoleted.
