dmesg tells me that:

Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1

 180 degree mounted touchpad
 Sensor: 18
 new absolute packet format
 Touchpad has extended capability bits
 -> four buttons
 -> multifinger detection
 -> palm detection

So maybe it's worth checking for similar output.
