You may try to enable ACPI for ASUS in the recent 2.6.1 Kernel or
use the acpi4asus patch for 2.4.x Kernels. Than watch
/var/log/acpid when pressing the extra keys. Now use
the *keycodes* to edit the appropriate script in /etc/acpi/
